(Google Paul Gilbert - The Compassionate Mind) Introduction Self-compassion is about focusing on our human similarities and shared humanity with others, who also struggle as we do. All peoples can aim to be well,to be happy & to be free from suffering. Balancing our Emotions *Importantly, being able to be anxious or angry, when we need to be. *Being able to be appropriately excited, gentle or kind when we want to be. The above systems gently balance each other. Furthermore, we also have some control. For example, we are able to make choices about our feelings. Most importantly, we do not have to avoid certain feelings. Becoming Compassionate *This is not about weakness or letting ones guard down. * It is about developing a rich mix of feelings.Being helpful,Kind & having warmth. A compassionate tone of voice, an expansion of wisdom & appropriate behavior. Be mindful of the here and now. May I be well May I be happy May I be free of suffering.
